Deal Lake is bigger and produces serious adult mosquito flights into the surrounding residential blocks from June through September.
Beyond the lakes, Asbury's older housing stock has the issues you'd expect: clogged gutters, drainage problems, dense plantings against fences, kid pools and rain barrels in backyards. Asian tigers thrive in this environment.
Tick pressure is light to moderate. Asbury doesn't have much wooded habitat within the city limits, but properties bordering the cemetery, the wooded sections of Cookman Avenue, or deer-active areas can see ticks.
For Wesley Lake-adjacent and Deal Lake-adjacent properties, we recommend monthly treatments minimum — often 21-day cycles in peak summer. The lake-driven mosquito flights are constant and the only way to keep your yard usable is to maintain the perimeter and resting-site treatments consistently.
For mid-city Asbury yards (no lake adjacency), monthly treatments are usually plenty. We spend extra time on the yard inspection because Asbury's small lots have a lot of breeding potential packed into tight spaces.
